Create your own portfolio

Blog Portfolio Assignment  
We are going to create an online art portfolio that will showcase your work.

Step 1 - Create your own blog.

Follow the steps in the Blog posting reference make sure to write down all passwords and website information. You will need to access throughout the semester.

Step 2- Create your first post to introduce yourself to the class. Copy the text into your first post and add your own answers to the questions.

Step 3 -
Bring in a self portrait to download for class and digital camera or printed image can be scanned in, (make sure your photograph is in focus and fills the frame) and upload the image to the post.  We will be converting the image into black and white.

Step 4- Publish your first post.
Step 5- Click on the comments on the bottom of this post and type your first and last name and the URL web address so I can link your page to our class blog.

Welcome to Photography Class!

We will be using this as a class blog for posting assignments, online class critiques, and general information for the course. Each of you will be creating your own blog portfolio of your artwork and thoughts throughout the semester. For your first assignment, we will be creating your own blog.  Your first post will be an introduction activity.

My Life

You've seen the American Express ad's before, now is your chance to 'express' yourself. In our introduction assignment you will literally introduce yourself. Here are two advertisements of Kate and Ellen. The photographs were taken by Annie Leibovitz.
What props are they using? Do the images look candid or posed? How can you express who you are through one photographic image?

Homework:

You will need to have a self portrait photo ready for the next class.  I will demonstrate cropping, levels, and turning the image to black and white. 

Copy the following text and supply the answer in a different font in your first post. We will post your first image by Tuesday 1/21 as an introduction to the class.
